Apple Ipad Books

One feature most Ipad owners love is its built in ebook reader. Ipad users have the chance to create their own virtual bookshelf and download ebooks from Apple's own iBoostore. This all is possible by taking advantage of the so called iBook app which comes pre installed with each Ipad. The downside of this app is that ebooks offered at Apple's iBookstore are pretty expensive. You have to expect to pay up to $14.99 for a single ebook. This is why Ipad owners all over the world are looking for cheaper ways to download ebooks for Ipad.

The good news is that Apples iBook app uses the EPUB format. An EPUB is a file format similar to MS Words DOC and Adobes PDF. The only difference is that EPUB is a standardized and free file format. Why is this a good thing? Because it is universal that means almost every ebook reader can read this file format. The only exception to this is Amazon's Kindle. But there is still the option to read EPUB files on Kindle. All you have to do is simply convert is by using a file converter.

The main question now is where to get ipad books other than going to the iBookstore and buying a copy at an expensive price. First, you should be aware that Google has approximately (over) one million free books. If you are looking for a public domain ebook you can most likely get it in EPUB format on Google for free. You will need to start a search for the ebook you are looking for on Google and cross your fingers that it is offered in EPUB format for free. You can also try epubBooks which was developed by Mike Cook. If you have a look at the site you will realize that it is pretty similar to Google's. The only big difference is that some ebooks come with additional features such as color illustrations. Mike Cook claims that even the ebooks are given away for free, the quality is still extremely good.

You can also take advantage of the free downloadable contents (of course, in EPUB format) provided by your local libraries. You will find that many libraries all over the world even offer digital libraries online offering free EPUB ebooks downloads for free.

The project Gutenberg website is great for people who are in love with classic books. You can find over 30,000 eBooks that are available for free download. These are made available at no expense since their copyrights have already expired and are now in the public domain for everyones use.

There are a whole lot more of places where you can download Ipad books for free or at a cheaper price.
